This is a telephoto view of the hill fort. High man made walls can be seen ringing the summit. At the base of the hill can be seen a white mansion. This would be the Raja's residence (the local prince). The stone ramparts at the top and a Raja's mansion at its base are two dead giveaways of a hill fort. There was a small village of maybe 200 people nearby and we asked if this was Ajaigarh fort. They said no, it was a fort called "Taraoni" (that is how I heard it pronounced). We had never heard or read of this place. This was some unknown, uncharted fort, lost in time. Who knows what wonders were up there? We didn't have time to investigate, so we moved on.
