As she wishes on a falling star there is an 'unadorned' silent and fleeting moment of happiness... So much so that even the colors of their clothes are primary, red, yellow, and blue. The quiet moment before the storm, as the 'virgin' lovers discuss their childish wish for a personal destiny apart from the constraints of the rules and mature constructs of society.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam"
(HDDCS) is one of the most gorgeous and baroque pieces of Bollywood eye-candy
ever produced. The film looks as if each and every shot were bathed in celestial
light, emanating from some unseen heavenly greasepaint track lighting from
above. Like director Bhansali's other films, "Khamoshi The Musical"
[1996] and "Devdas" [2002], HDDCS is dominated by surface over
substance, and homage over originality. What Bhansali does bring to Bollywood
is a new brilliance in technical sophistication and an epic sense of scale.
He is also a master of Bollywood song picturization and his work in HDDCS
created two classics, "Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan" and "Nimbooda".
HDDCS won all three of the major Bollywood movies awards, Filmfare, Screen,
and Zee in 1999 for "Best Feature Film".
