Suman Ranganathan is an Indian model and actress who has starred in Hindi, Tamil and Kannada films. She is a Tamilian and she belongs to the Iyengar Brahmin family. She still does some modelling work.
Suman Ranganathan was praised by critics for her role in Fareb (1996), her first Bollywood film, which was an Indian adaptation of Unlawful Entry (1992) starring Kurt Russell, Ray Liotta, and Madeleine Stowe. She was also appreciated for her scene-stealing performance as a spoiled Indian-American socialite in Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999). However, her most noteworthy accomplishment in film came in 2003 with the release of the hit film Baghban, which went on to be nominated for four Filmfare Awards including Best Film.

Suman Ranganathan the actress with the dusky good looks and chiseled figure is a deeply religious soul, hailed from a conservative South Indian family. Suman Rangnathan who seems to be least bothered by the rumours and scandals that chase her night and day and does whatever she feels like. She has the natural grace and charm which men find irresistible and appealing. Even before she had stepped filmdom, she was in news because of her 'love' for Rahul Roy.
She started off pretty well with Fareb. But today, she is still grappling with a direction for her career. She has been charged with paying more attention towards her personal life than professional life. Sadly enough for her, Suman Ranganathan has been in news more because of the men 'around' her than her performances.
